A. When you first start gardening roses, you will have to choose what type of rose you wish to plant, and no, I m not talking about the color. You will have to choose between bare-root, prepackaged, or container-grown roses. Bare-root roses are sold in the winter and early spring. How do roses do in cold temperature?
Q. I want to leave some roses on a friend's doorstep tomorrow. The low temp for tomorrow is projected at 40 degrees. So assuming worst case scenario and saying maybe she doesn't get them for a few hours, how would roses do in a vase with water at that temperature?

A. Roses do well in cold temperatures, in fact before arriving in the store or at the florist they are kept in very cold temps to keep them fresh. They should be fine.
